Signed photographic reproduction of a drawn portrait of the Hungarian-born American conductor. Inscribed to Paul McMahon, dated 1962. Handstamp, "Eugene Ormandy / Conductor / The P hiladelphia Orchestra" to verso. 10 x 8 inches (25.6 x 20.6 cm). In fine condition. Ormandy became a legend as the music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra. His 44-year association with the orchestra is one of the longest enjoyed by any conductor with any American orchestra. Ormandy made numerous recordings with the orchestra, and as guest conductor with European orchestras, and achieved three gold records and two Grammy Awards. His reputation was as a skilled technician and expert orchestral builder.
