ARTS＆CRAFTSFounded in Japan in 2006 as a leather goods brand dedicated to the pursuit of "Functional Beauty." Inspired by Britain's 19th-century Arts and Crafts Movement, the brand seeks to blend contemporary sensibility with traditional craftsmanship. Centered around simple, timeless design, ARTS＆CRAFTS creates bags and leather goods that highlight the natural character of materials and the handwork of skilled artisans. Its products are designed to develop greater character with use and become a natural part of everyday life.Canvas That Deepens with Every UseThe fabric is No. 6 Aging Canvas, woven on traditional shuttle looms in Kurashiki, Okayama. Thick and durable, it is built to hold up even when filled generously with everyday belongings.Leather with the Ruggedness of Outdoor BootsThe base uses Chromexcel leather from Horween, a tannery renowned for premium horsehide, including cordovan. This heavy-duty cowhide is finished with natural oils that enhance flexibility and water resistance, developing an increasingly rich sheen through years and even decades of use. Its traditional combination tanning process also gives the leather a supple quality that helps prevent it from becoming stiff when wet. Rather than treating it delicately, this leather is meant to be carried, used, and enjoyed without hesitation. The more you put it through its paces, the more character it develops, making it especially appealing to those who appreciate materials that become more beautiful through hard use.※Please note that if the product becomes wet, wipe away moisture with a dry cloth and allow it to dry in the shade in a well-ventilated area.Rich, Natural Tones Created with Plant-Based DyesAvailable in two colors, Tan and Olive. Both are dyed using vegetable tannins extracted from plants, creating natural, understated tones with a depth and subtlety that are characteristic of plant-based dyes. Slight variations in color between production lots and seasons are part of the unique charm of natural dyeing. While canvas is often associated with fading over time, this material takes on a deeper, richer color with continued use. Tan is created using mimosa and chestnut, while Olive is produced using mimosa and iron mordant, bringing out the natural character of the canvas.Generous Storage for Days with More to CarryThe large, gusseted design offers ample capacity for everything from everyday use and trips to the gym to overnight stays. It is ideal for days when you want to carry everything you need in a single bag.An interior hanging pocket features three compartments, making it easy to organize smaller items. While offering generous capacity, the design is thoughtfully arranged for everyday practicality.Take a closer look at the careful stitching on each pocket. Since these areas are frequently used, extra attention has been given to ensure lasting durability. The same leather used on the base is also used on the handle surfaces, creating a dependable construction even when carrying heavy loads. The areas that are handled most often gradually develop a rich sheen and become softer and more supple with age, making the natural aging process especially enjoyable.A storage bag is included for convenient storage when the tote is not in use. Use it to keep the bag neatly stored between uses.A Bag Worth Repairing Again and AgainThe Aging Canvas Basic Tote has become an iconic ARTS & CRAFTS piece, with many devoted owners saying they would continue using it even after repeated repairs. Its nearly two decades of enduring popularity reflect the brand's uncompromising approach to craftsmanship. Every scratch and change in color becomes a record of the time you've spent with it, gradually giving the bag a character that is uniquely your own. Built to be used hard as an everyday tool, it is a piece that becomes more personal and more cherished with continued use.
