By leaving the core of the yarn undyed rather than dyeing it all the way through, the denim develops a striking contrast between its deep original color and the faded areas as it is worn. At 15.7oz, the fabric is slightly heavier than the 12–14oz weight commonly used for denim, giving it a substantial feel and distinctly denim-like character. At the same time, long-staple Zimbabwe cotton provides a natural softness that gradually conforms to the body with wear.The fabric is slowly woven on vintage TOYODA shuttle looms, creating a uniquely uneven and textured surface.
