VW Bus Sliding Door Weatherstrip – 211-843-792BBR Seal your cabin against the elements with this premium Center Sliding Door Weatherstrip. This specific seal is engineered for the "Bay Window" Bus and installs directly onto the body of the vehicle, surrounding the sliding door aperture. This Brazilian made version is more economical version than our European made seal. This 211-843-792BBR seal provide you watertight barrier while maintaining the ease of operation required for a heavy sliding door. Detailed Vehicle Compatibility This weatherstrip is designed for the right-hand side (US Passenger Side) sliding door continuously across the following years: VW Type 2 Bus (Transporter, Kombi, Campmobile) 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 Product Highlights & Features Reduces Wind Noise: Eliminates the "whistling" common at highway speeds caused by aging or shrunken door seals. Perfect Compression: Designed to compress easily, preventing the "bouncing back" effect where the rear latch of the sliding door fails to catch. Direct Fit: Cut to the precise length and molded to the specific corner radii of the 1968–1979 Type 2 body. Technical Specifications Part Number: 211-843-792BBR Material: Soft EPDM Rubber (Brazilian Made) Placement: Body-Mounted (Center Sliding Door Opening) Fitment Type: Press-fit into the factory metal channel Installation & Maintenance Tips Clean the Channel: Before installation, use a small flathead screwdriver and a rag to remove all old rubber bits, glue, and dirt from the metal channel on the body. A clean channel ensures the new seal seats deeply and evenly. Start at the Corners: Fit the corners of the seal first before pressing in the straight runs. This prevents the rubber from being stretched too thin or bunching up at the ends. The "Lube" Trick: Use a little soapy water or a dedicated rubber lubricant to help the seal slide into the metal track. Avoid petroleum-based products, as they can degrade the rubber over time. The Settling Period: After installation, your sliding door may feel slightly "tighter" to close. Leave the door latched shut for 48 to 72 hours; this allows the new rubber to take its "set" and conform perfectly to your specific door's alignment. 211843792BEU
