The twin Provan Gasworks gasometers, usually only glimpsed from the M8, are seen here in the early 1960s, when, rather than a noisy motorway, they had a quiet canal for company.Built by Glasgow Corporation between 1900 and 1904, originally the plant manufactured town gas via the coking of coal.
