Yes — OEM part number 1092696-00-B is the cowl and luggage compartment retainer used on all Tesla Model 3 variants from 2017 forward (Standard, Long Range, Performance, and AWD). Does this fit the Tesla Model Y? Yes — the Tesla Model Y (2020–present) uses the same OEM retainer 1092696-00-B as the Model 3. This clip is used both in the cowl area and inside the frunk luggage apron trim. Why are all three heads the same size (15mm) on this retainer? Equal-diameter triple heads create a uniform clamping footprint at each layer, which distributes pull-out force evenly. This is preferred in high-vibration locations or where the panel has multiple thin layers that need consistent clamping — common in Tesla's aluminum-intensive body construction. Where exactly is this clip used on the Tesla? This retainer is used in two main areas: (1) the cowl panel at the base of the windshield, and (2) inside the front luggage compartment (frunk) on the apron trim panels that cover the structural framing around the frunk opening. Why is this clip white instead of black? The white color is Tesla's OEM specification. It serves a practical purpose — white clips are easy to spot against dark underbody or interior surfaces during service, helping technicians confirm correct clip placement and count during assembly or panel removal.
