The A-100PBK is essentially the same as the standard A-100 Base A-100PB, but it comes equipped with a 37-key keyboard (Fatar 37TP/9 semi-weighted with monophonic aftertouch) that is mounted in the case lid. The keyboard is connected to a 2HP connection module through a 3.5mm stereo cable, which is mounted in the upper or lower row of the A-100PBK. The connection module features a MIDI output (3.5mm stereo MIDI standard) that transmits the keyboard's MIDI data (MIDI channel 1, lowest note number 36, note on/off, and aftertouch). Users can connect a polyphonic (A-190-5) or monophonic CV/Gate interface (e.g., A-190-3, A-190-4) to the MIDI output of the connection module. Two jumpers are available to choose between the two MIDI standards for 3.5mm MIDI connectors. The A-100PBK also includes a 3.5mm-to-DIN5 adapter cable. Otherwise, the lid must not be mounted to prevent damage to the keyboard. Damages to the keyboard caused by insufficient space, such as due to modules or patch cables over 40mm, are not covered by warranty. The A-100PBK lid is not compatible with the A-100PB since the A-100PBK is longer by about 50mm due to the keyboard dimensions.
