This vase was fired in the first firebox of the Sasukenei kiln—the hottest part of the wood-fired kiln. Left unglazed, they were directly exposed to flame and ash, which left their natural marks on the surface. The interaction of clay, slips, and ash creates vibrant colour variations and expressive textures that can never be reproduced. Each side has its own distinct character, allowing the vase to change its appearance depending on its orientation. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind piece that reveals something new from every angle. Height: 8,8cmWidth: 9,4cm Show more
