Why This Watch Matters Found under a litany of brand names, these 70s Valjoux 7750 powered chronographs are just a must have in the vintage world– a great mix of fashion and function. The Full Story The LeJour brand began as a French distributor of fine Swiss watches in the early 1960s, and eventually started selling watches under its own name a few years later. The company has been recognized for its sporty chronographs due to its time spent as a distributor for Heuer in Europe and Yema in the United States. Be them marked Heuer, Orfina, Sinn, Gallet, or LeJour, chronographs looking very similar to the one we have here are always a pleasure to offer through the vintage shop. It was a simple recipe that seems to have worked back in the day and continues to work for vintage collectors today. The LeJour signed example we have here is solid condition with a sharp stainless steel case and excellent creamy lume patina on the dial and hands. The pop of color from the chronograph seconds hand is really striking on this one. We paired the watch with our Sedona strap in mustard to play off of the lume patina. The case is strong with sharp lines. There are some dark spots of wear around the bezel and on the sides of the case. The caseback marks are clearly visible but show some signs of polishing or wear. The rear of the lugs have some scratches likely from strap changes. The dial is in excellent condition with a light patina throughout. The lume on dial and in the hands has developed patina and aged to a creamy color. The orange seconds hand remains vibrant. The movement is signed "Itika" on the rotor which is known to be correct for these LeJours and is seen on other examples. The dial is signed by LeJour.
