Cards developed from Edgar Degas’ On the Stage, 1876–77; Two Dancers, c. 1893–98; Three Studies of a Dancer in Fourth Position, 1879/80; The Star, 1879/81; Yellow Dancers (In the W ings), 1874/76; from The Art Institute of Chicago’s collection. Edgar Degas first painted dancers as an independent subject in 1871.
