1997 Double Dollar 8-Coin Prestige Set in Fine Silver: CANADA USSR HOCKEY 25th Anniversary. This Double Dollar 8-Coin Prestige Set from the RCM is presented in a Black Leather book -style display case & COA, with all coins encapsulated and visible both sides. Lined in Red satin. All in excellent condition. Commemorative Dollar, and all other coins, are 92.5% Fine Silver. The Loonie and penny are nickel or bronze. NEW! In 1997 the Double Dollar coin sets were raised to 8- coins because of the NEW $2 coin, now included, and it features 24k selective gold plating. This vintage coin set celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Canada USSR Hockey Series in 1972. The Canadian artist, Walter Burden, captured the pivotal moment of the game, as seen on the Silver Dollar! DID YOU KNOW? Beginning in 1996, the five cent, ten cent, twenty-five cent and fifty cent coins were all struck in 92.5% sterling silver.
