While the diameter of this example comes out to 34mm, for example, it wears much larger and has a well-defined wrist presence. The ridges on the engine-turned bezel provide the illusion of a wider bezel, making the watch's overall appearance feel larger on your wrist. The engine-turned bezel seen here is also far less common than a fluted or smooth example, which is a compelling complement to the otherwise classic Oyster steel case and dial design. In addition to the engine turned bezel, this example also features a non-lume dial and handset, giving it another not-so-common characteristic. The bottom of the features "Sigma'' markers flanking the Swiss signature, which was an indication used in the 1970s to show that the hour markers and hands of a watch were made of gold. The case is strong with scratches. The back of the lugs show some scratches that are most likely from the bracelet being taken off and on. The case was probably lightly polished. The caseback has a few scratches and small marks. The silver-tone dial is in overall great condition with a light patina throughout. When looking at the dial under a loupe, the consistent fine patina gives the silver dial almost a textured look. The hands and applied hour markers have developed patina. The Oyster bracelet is fitted with the correct folded links and has some light stretch in between. Overall the bracelet is in excellent condition with light scratches. The clasp code of "4 72" dates the bracelet to the fourth quarter of 1972, which makes sense given the year of this example. The case, dial, movement, crown, and bracelet are signed.
