You’ll usually harvest mushrooms within 7–14 days, depending on temperature, humidity, and care. Where should I keep the kit? A bright spot with indirect light is ideal. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or cold windowsills. Normal room temperature works best. How do I start growing? Open the grow window and make a small cross in the bag where shown. This lets in fresh air and starts the growing process. How often should I mist the kit? Mist lightly 2–4 times a day to keep the surface moist. If the room is dry, you may need to mist more often. Are the mushrooms safe to eat? Yes. The kit grows edible oyster mushrooms. Harvest at the right stage and always cook before eating. How many harvests can I expect? The grow window will fruit 1-3 times. Can I store the kit before starting? It’s best to start growing soon after delivery. If needed, the kit can be stored in the fridge for several months before use, but may degrade over time. How does the kit actually work? Inside the box is live mycelium growing on a straw-based substrate. With moisture, light, and fresh air, it produces mushrooms. Can I grow mushrooms outdoors? The kit is designed for indoor growing where conditions are stable. Outdoor growing can work, but results are less predictable. Why are mushrooms growing inside the bag? This can happen if the mycelium is very active, and is actually a good sign. If they are acessible, simply break them off and resume with instructions as normal. What is the amber liquid? The amber droplets are a natural metabolites produced by mycelium breaking down nutrients. They’re harmless and completely normal. Why did growth slow down or stop? This is usually caused by low humidity. Ensure regular misting to encourage another flush. When is the best time to harvest? Harvest just before the cap edges flatten out. At this stage the mushrooms have the best texture and flavour.
