Designed for farriers, blacksmiths, and forge enthusiasts, these bricks offer exceptional resistance to abrasion and flux. Their high alumina content ensures strength and durabilit y, making them perfect for lining forges, fireplaces, and fireboxes. The bricks are very strong, even when thin. They are favourites, and we get special orders from far and wide. At full-thickness, Heavy-Duty Firebricks are 2.5 or 3" thick and weigh up to 8 lbs. They take a lot of energy and time to bring up to forge welding Temperature, and they also hold heat like a 'heat sink.' (Not to be confused with the much lighter, porous, and more fragile 'IFBs ' or Insulating bricks.) Dimensions offered. All bricks are 9" Long x 4.5" Wide with varying thickness. 1/4" (0.125)" - Ultra thin -Fragile until mortared onto another brick 1/2" (0.5)" Thick 1" (0.9 - 1.125)" Thick 1-1/4" (1.2)" Thick Bricks are sold individually unless stated otherwise. Dense Firebricks are also available in 2.5" and 3" thickness profiles. ** Custom-cut bricks are available on request.
