3001 Hydrophobic Agent Admixture3001 Hydrophobic Agent is a high-concentration admixture designed for seamless integration into any cement-based material and for the permanent hydrophobic bulk impregnation of cement-based construction materials. One simple addition creates a permanent, lifelong barrier against moisture, rising damp, and efflorescence. Why Choose 3001 Hydrophobic Agent? Total Permanent Protection: Stops water ingress, efflorescence, and rising damp. Reduces moss, algae, and surface discoloration at the source. Advanced Hydrophobic Technology: Engineered specifically to protect building and construction materials. Deep-Core Technology: Unlike surface sealers, 3001 works from the inside out to protect the entire structure — not just the surface. Easy to Use: Incredibly easy application and seamless integration into existing manufacturing or construction processes. Universal Compatibility: Perfect for sand-cement screeds, renders, mortar, grouts, concrete masonry, and concrete. Simple 3-Step Application: Dilute: Mix 1 part 3001 with precisely 100 parts water. Mix: Use this solution as your gauging water for your dry mix (screed, render, or concrete). Cure: Allow the material to cure as normal. The Result: Within 24 hours, your substrate becomes fully hydrophobic.3001 reacts chemically with the calcium silicate hydrate in the cement, lining the internal pores with a water-repellent layer. Crucially, 3001 does not block the pores — the material remains vapour-permeable (it can "breathe") while water is actively repelled. It can hold a hydrostatic pressure between 60mm and up to 100mm.As a VOC-free, water-based solution, 3001 is compliant with the latest LEED requirements and suitable for indoor use. The solvent is simply water.Available in 1 litre, 20 litre, and 1000 litre IBC tank.Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference between 3001 Hydrophobic Agent and 3001 Concrete Sealer Concentrate? The 3001 Hydrophobic Agent Admixture is mixed directly into the wet concrete, screed, or render during production — it becomes a permanent part of the material. The 3001 Concrete Sealer Concentrate is applied to the surface of existing concrete or masonry after it has cured. Both use the same hydrophobic technology but are designed for different stages of construction. Does 3001 Hydrophobic Agent affect the strength of concrete? No. 3001 does not negatively affect the structural integrity or compressive strength of concrete. It reacts chemically with the calcium silicate hydrate in the cement to line the internal pores with a water-repellent layer, without blocking them or altering the mix design. Can 3001 Hydrophobic Agent prevent efflorescence? Yes. By preventing water ingress through the capillary pores, 3001 stops the transport of dissolved salts to the surface — which is the primary cause of efflorescence. It also works against salt-contaminated sand and aggregates within the mix. Is 3001 Hydrophobic Agent vapour permeable? Yes. 3001 does not block the pores of the concrete — it changes the surface energy of the capillaries so water is repelled rather than absorbed. The material remains fully vapour permeable, allowing the structure to breathe while staying water-repellent. How quickly does 3001 Hydrophobic Agent take effect? Within 24 hours of the material curing, the substrate becomes fully hydrophobic. The admixture integrates during the normal curing process — no additional steps or waiting periods are required beyond standard curing time. This concentrated product is water based. Please download the Technical Data Sheet Related Guides Nano Coating for Concrete: What You Need to Know How to Stop Rising Damp and Efflorescence Permanently
