Sigrid Coffin and her father are letter carvers under the family business Coffin & Daughters. This is one of Sigrid’s “art” carvings, not for a client, but for her own practice and BOY, it is a beautiful demonstration of her skill and talent!Titled “matrescence” which means the act of becoming a mother, as a tribute to her ceremonial chopping off of her own braid when she was about to give birth to her child.
