The Evans EQ PAD is a highly effective bass drum mute that attaches with Velcro to the underside of the inside of the bass drum shell. It features two bends, large and small, on bo th sides that contact the head of the drum. When the beater strikes the head, they separate, then return to the head, muting the sound. This prevents excessive muting and ensures just the right amount of resonance. Furthermore, the Velcro allows for flexible positioning of the mute itself.
