And the process of art-making can provide a key to understanding our internal world—our emotions, memories, values, and beliefs. In this hands-on session, we’ll learn SketchPoetic®, an intuitive sketching practice that utilizes simple mark-making and embodied noticing to access creativity and our inner landscape in a way that may be difficult to articulate through words alone. This novel creative-arts practice helps regulate the nervous system, increases emotional awareness, and fosters greater self-compassion and insight. This session is open to all, and no artistic experience is necessary. The practice emphasizes curiosity, presence, and personal exploration rather than artistic skill—and we’ll come away with a new, simple go-to creative tool to use for self-care and our work with others.
