Selector Detent Spring is part of the gearbox gear-selection detent for the forward-gear selector shafts (1st/2nd and 3rd/4th). It loads the detent ball against the selector rail s o each rail is held positively in its selected gear or in neutral, preventing the gear from creeping out of engagement. Worn or missing detent springs are a common cause of gears jumping out. Used on the 4- and 6-cylinder gearboxes; the reverse selector uses a separate spring (56102). Show more
