After 15 years of DOC status, we decided to “call it by its name”, starting with the 2011 vintage, to show how special it is to us. This unique wine is produced almost exclusively in the municipality of Verduno, from the rare native grape variety Pelaverga Piccolo. You can tell that it is special by its color, but what is particularly captivating is its unmistakable spicy scent, especially of pepper, hence Speziale (spezia being the Italian word for spice). Light-med bodied, and take nicely to a chill. Zippy strawberry, baritone cherry, dried rose, black peppercorns. Stoney mineral, saline finish. Show more
