Richard Van Wingerden This 1940-50s ink and watercolor on paper nude study is by Dutch-Californian Expressionist Richard Van Wingerden (1893-1969). A WPA artist, Van Wingerden stud ied with Thomas Hart Benton at the Art Students League in New York and with Benjamin Bufano and Spencer Macky at the Mary Hopkins Institute of San Francisco. Van was a political activist as a member of I.W.W. and the Debs party. In the 1960s, Van was part of the Sausalito Teahouse Group with Ross and Eileen Curtis in Marin. The group used an early 1900s Japanese Teahouse as a studio and exhibition space. 1940-50s Ink and Watercolor on Paper 12"x18" unframed Estate stamped lower right. Good vintage condition. Show more
