EVANS is a highly uniform drum head created through innovative ideas and computer control! Until recently, 16" bass drums were considered a very special item, often made by modifyi ng a floor tom using separately sold hardware parts. However, in recent years, factory production has become more common, and manufacturers have released a number of models, including the Ludwig Breakbeat, Sonor Safari, and Tama Silverstar Cocktail-Jam Kit, making this size extremely popular. Evans has taken notice and added a popular model optimized for the 16" bass drum, a size that is expected to continue to grow in demand. This is for a 16-inch bass drum with a wooden hoop. EMAD is Evans' proprietary sound control system. It includes two interchangeable urethane mute rings (damping rings) of different widths, which can be easily attached or removed without removing the bass drum head. Made of 10-mil, single-ply film, the two removable damping rings allow you to create a wide range of sounds, from an open sound to a tight attack or a fat sound with a rich low end, all with just one bass drum head.
