What is the difference between the Oval and Round MoonMounts? Some SUVs and trucks have roof features like rain gutters or ridges that make it difficult—or even impossible—to install the 4.5" round MoonMount, as it requires a wider flat area. In these cases, the Oval MoonMount is a better fit. If the available space on your roof is less than 4.75 inches wide, we recommend using the Oval MoonMount. Vacuum Mount Instructions: Clean both the mounting surface and the vacuum pads thoroughly. Moisten the sealing surface of the MoonMount pad. Position the MoonMount so the Indicator Line is visible on the plunger. Pump each plunger until the mount is firmly attached and the Indicator Line is no longer visible. Check regularly during use. If the indicator line becomes visible again: Pump the plunger until the indicator line disappears. If the indicator line keeps reappearing, clean the surface and vacuum pads again, then reinstall.
