A new mattress isn't always the answer. If your bed is too firm — or a few years past its best — the 4-lb. Memory Foam Topper from Brooklyn Bedding adds a conforming comfort layer for a fraction of the price of replacing the mattress underneath. Why 4-lb density matters Density is the number that separates memory foam that lasts from memory foam that flattens. At 4 pounds per cubic foot, this topper is dense enough to cradle pressure points at the shoulders and hips, absorb a partner's movement, and keep doing both for years — while staying soft enough to sink into. Key features Two heights: 2" adds gentle softness; 3" gives deeper contouring and pressure relief for side sleepers GlacioTex cooling cover: cool-to-the-touch fibers pull excess heat away, countering memory foam's warm reputation Open-cell foam: breathable structure lets body heat escape instead of building up overnight Motion isolation: dense foam absorbs movement, so a restless partner stays their problem — not yours CertiPUR-US certified: foams tested free of harmful chemicals Washable cover: zip it off and machine wash it 2-inch or 3-inch? Choose 2 inches to soften a slightly-too-firm mattress without changing how it feels overall. Choose 3 inches if you sleep on your side, weigh over about 200 lbs, or want the bed to feel meaningfully plusher. Both heights come in every standard size from Twin to California King — including Queen Short (60" × 75") for older frames and RVs. Not sure what fits? See our mattress size guide.
