As Technical Consultant and CDM lead at the Stirling Prize-winning AHMM Architects, he advises on legislation, fire strategy, and inclusive design. A Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers and the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management, Paul sits on HSE, RIBA, and CIC Health and Safety committees. He contributed to the CITB/HSE Industry Guidance for Designers under CDM 2015 and authored CDM 2015: A Practical Guide for Architects and Designers (RIBA Publishing). Keri Barr, Keri Barr Architects Keri, a RIBA Chartered Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer, has been a sole practitioner since 2015. She specialises in extensions, alterations, and thermal improvements for domestic clients, with occasional new-build projects. Sustainability is central to her work, as she guides clients toward eco-friendly design and material choices while considering long-term impacts. Keri is dedicated to simplifying the architectural process for clients, many of whom are navigating it for the first time. Colin Blatchford-Brown, Blatchford Brown Limited Colin is a Chartered Building Control Surveyor and Chartered Building Engineer and has worked in the building control profession for over thirty years. Until recently, Colin was Operational Policy Lead for the gateways and building control at the HSE, helping to set up the Building Safety Regulator and working with government on the secondary legislation to support the introduction of the Building Safety Act. Colin delivers regular CPD sessions on the BSA and building regulations. Gary Neal, Skanska UK Gary is a seasoned construction professional with 45 years of experience, including 35 in fire safety. As Skanska UK’s fire expert, he has worked on major rail and building projects and earned a degree in Construction Site Fire Safety. Gary collaborates with the London Fire Brigade and regulators to stay ahead of evolving legislation. His work focuses on fire risk prevention through management controls and safety measures. The Building Safety Act has added new dimensions to his role, including defining Duty Holder responsibilities, driving cultural change, and promoting quality control, productivity, and profitability improvements. Robin Palmer, Peabody Robin Palmer BA (Hons) BArch ARB is a RIBA award-winning chartered architect and Head of Design (Programme) at Peabody, overseeing the strategic design of new homes across London and the northern Home Counties. With over 10 years of experience working with owner/operator developers, Robin focuses on lifecycle expenditure to deliver future-ready design legacies. Before joining Peabody in 2022, he worked across Retail, IT, and Health sectors in client and studio roles. Robin is dedicated to innovating scalable design strategies, prioritising safety, quality, sustainability, buildability, and information management. Andrew Croft, Beale Law Andrew is a Partner in the Contracts and Projects Advisory Team, advising the construction industry on contractual and legal issues. He has extensive experience with collaborative contracts such as alliancing and partnering, and has advised on major infrastructure projects including Crossrail, HS2, Hinkley Point C, and the Collaborative Delivery Framework. Qualified in Ireland, Andrew also advises on Irish construction contracts. He has a particular interest in Building Information Modelling (BIM), having contributed to the UK Government’s 2011 BIM Strategy, the CIC BIM Protocol, ISO 19650, and the JCT 2019 BIM Practice Note. Andrew is a member of the CLC COVID-19 Contractual Best Practice Group and writes a monthly legal column in Construction Law.
