Compact gate pedal that can reduce noise inline or across an effects loop Noise Gate/Effects Loop The Silencer is a high-performance noise gate that can be used to control a single pedal or an entire pedalboard. Three controls allow for precise tuning to suit your system, instrument, and playing style. Reduction can be set from -70dB to +4dB, and the release time can be set from 8ms to a maximum of 4 seconds. It features input, output, send, and return inputs and outputs, and a footswitch for on/bypass switching. The effects loop is always active, whether the gate is on or in bypass mode (buffered bypass). THRESHOLD control: Sets the input signal level required to open the gate. At full counterclockwise, the gate remains open, allowing all signals through. As you turn clockwise, a higher signal level is required to open the gate. REDUCTION CONTROL: Adjusts how much the signal level is reduced when the gate is engaged. The reduction can be set between -70dB (fully clockwise) and +4dB (fully counterclockwise) (you can also boost noise instead of reducing it if you prefer). RELEASE control: This sets the time it takes for the gate to close after the input signal falls below the threshold with the gate open. The release time can be set from a fast 8ms (fully counterclockwise) to a slowest 4 seconds (fully clockwise). Three controls allow for precise adjustment. Can be used as an inline noise gate or as a gate for the entire effects loop. Up to -70dB of noise reduction. Release time can be adjusted from 8ms to a maximum of 4 seconds. Buffered bypass. Powered by one 9V battery or an optional Electro-Harmonix JP9.6DC-200 AC adapter (9VDC center negative). Current draw: 22mA
