The Genelec 4436AW Smart IP Active Pendant Loudspeaker combines premium networked audio performance with a clean white finish and elegant pendant-style design, making it ideal for modern open-ceiling environments where both aesthetics and sound quality are important. Developed in collaboration with industrial designer Harri Koskinen, the 4436AW blends minimalist Nordic styling with Genelec’s professional acoustic expertise, creating a visually refined loudspeaker solution for hospitality venues, retail spaces, restaurants, educational facilities, and contemporary commercial interiors. Powered by Genelec’s Smart IP platform, the 4436AW delivers audio, power, and loudspeaker management through a single CAT cable using PoE connectivity. Compatibility with Dante and AES67 audio streams allows seamless integration into professional audio-over-IP systems, while Smart IP Manager software provides installers with advanced tools for room equalization, zoning, device discovery, and system monitoring. Integration with automation systems is also supported through a public API, simplifying control within larger AV infrastructures. The 4436AW features dual 50 W Class D amplifiers driving a 130 mm woofer and 19 mm metal dome tweeter to produce clear, balanced sound with excellent speech intelligibility and wide coverage. Its active two-way design removes the need for external amplifier racks while maintaining high-performance audio reproduction with output levels up to 104 dB SPL. The durable steel pendant enclosure and included adjustable hanging wire support simple installation and long-term reliability, while the compact suspended design allows targeted sound distribution in open high-ceiling spaces.
