Richard Van Wingerden This 1940-60s Modernist ink on paper nude is by Dutch-Californian Expressionist Richard Van Wingerden (1893-1969). A WPA artist, Van Wingerden studied with Th omas Hart Benton at the Art Students League in New York and with Benjamin Bufano and Spencer Macky at the Mary Hopkins Institute of San Francisco. Van was a political activist as a member of I.W.W. and the Debs party. In the 1960s, Van was part of the Sausalito Teahouse Group with Ross and Eileen Curtis in Marin. The group used an early 1900s Japanese Teahouse as a studio and exhibition space. 1940-60s Ink on Paper 10"x12.5" unframed Estate stamped lower right. Good vintage condition. Show more
