This Italian beauty is from a NY designer and is a mostly cotton, yarn-dyed, textured matelasse' knit. It has a stripey woodgrain design in blue-black and off white (PANTONE 19-1102, 11-4301...ish), the white area are raise and the blue-black areas are recessed. It is soft and cottony, and the weight and drape are similar to a doubleknit with 15% widthwise stretch. The reverse is a fine mesh backing that is not meant to be seen. Make a fabulous fitted dress, knit jacket, pencil skirt, knit suit, tunic, an upscale hoodie, etc. The drape has some body and the cotton blend is comfortable and versatile!
