These are 48 volt units. 24 volt units are available in smaller capacities if you need a lower-power solution. Battery Requirements You'll need a 48V or 24V battery to operate these units. Running them directly on solar without a battery won't work reliably and can damage the system. The battery doesn't have to be large, but the longer you want to run the unit without full sun, the larger the battery you’ll want. Ideal for Permanent Installations Mini-splits are the best choice for permanent structures. Installation involves: Running copper lines between the indoor "head unit" and the outdoor "condenser" unit. Vacuuming the lines, then releasing the refrigerant from the outdoor unit by turning an Allen key. Supplying 48 volts DC input via appropriately sized power cables (positive and negative). Turning on the unit inside with the included remote. This setup provides real, high-power air conditioning with zero monthly bills and no reliance on city power.
