Starter cords are used only as a "3rd hand" when starting to wrap a tree to hold TREE-Z® Wrap in place while you start wrapping lights around the hooks. Remove the starter cord onc e lights are on the tree. Neon colors to make it easy to spot in case you leave it on the tree or it is laying on the ground.
