This item is made by Bruce in their Timberland value grade collection that will have filled knots and holes, light and dark wood, and minor imperfections. This grade of material is approximately half the price of the premium clear grade and is a great value in our experience. We recommend ordering at least 10% extra for cutting waste and expect to have a more rustic-looking floor. The pictures we provided were taken from an actual box of material from our inventory. 5" wide solid hardwood flooring is more prone to seasonal width variation (expansion and contraction) than narrow strips (2-1/4"), because wood moves across its grain rather than its length, meaning wider boards accumulate a larger cumulative dimensional change.
