What to Expect: Week 1: Intro & ThrowingMeet your instructor, review class policies, watch a demo and learn the basics, then jump right on the wheel! Time to get muddy and start throwing. We allot 30 minutes at the end of each class for clean-up. Week 2: Demo + TrimmingTrimming is the process of refining your leather-hard pieces. We’ll show you how to shape, smooth, and add finishing touches to your pieces using professional tools. Week 3: ThrowingTime to get back on the wheel and sharpen your centering and pulling skills! Week 4: TrimmingYour final wheel class to trim and perfect your forms. Week OffRest those hands! Your work will be dried and bisque-fired by our staff. Week 5: GlazingThe fun part! You will be notified by email if a class is being rescheduled. Dress for mess! We recommend wearing clothes you can get muddy in. Trim your nails and tie back your hair- trust us, you'll thank us later. Arrive 5-10 minutes early. We promise we're friendly and there's lots to see in our studio! You may even be welcomed in by our sweet furry greeters- Boo & Frankie. Cleanup is a shared activity. Everyone helps clean their workspace :)! Pieces are ready for pickup in approximately 2-3 weeks after your last class A friendly reminder: Due to the nature of clay and the firing process, we cannot guarantee the final outcome of any piece. While we take great care with all work, warping, cracking, or breakage can occur. We like to say, “don’t fall in love with your piece until it makes it home with you!” Picking up your Pottery: We will email students when your pieces are ready for pick up and post it online, here: 'Are my Pots Ready?'
