Benefits of Type 3: 5 Year Ceramic Coating Up to 5 years of ceramic coating protection Enhances gloss, slickness, and paint depth Hydrophobic water-beading properties for easier maintenance Helps protect against UV exposure and environmental contaminants TEOS-based formula designed for reliable application Added resistance to clogging Ideal after proper paint correction and surface preparation Suitable for experienced DIY users and professional detailers For best results, apply to clean, dry, properly prepared paint. Paint correction is recommended before coating when swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, or other defects need to be addressed. How to Apply Ceramic Coating: Start with a clean and dry surface. Wipe down with DIY Detail panel prep. Wearing gloves, in a well-ventilated area, 8-10 drops to the applicator pad to prime. Then 1-2 drops per panel. Working in a circular motion apply the DIY Detail Ceramic Coating to a small area ( a front fender for example). Allow to dwell 2-5 minutes ( dwell time is dependent on temperature and humidity). Observe the surface, as the coating begins to cross link to the paint, the coating will transition from a liquid to what looks like an oil slick on water. When 50% of the surface turns back to clear, start leveling the coating. With a short nap towel, lightly wipe the surface. If the towel is dragging, or is getting wet, wait 1 min more. Level with a DIY Level One Towel and follow behind with a Freebird 400 towel. The coating needs 1 hour before exposure to rain. 3 days before you can wash with DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash.
