Packaged in an elegant book-style maroon-leather case, with remov able lens, Info card, COA and original RCM outer black cardboard box. All in EXCELLENT CONDITION, no toning. (the clear removable film is still on the front and back of the coin holder window!) Silver Dollar is 99.99% Fine Silver 23.17 gram. All other coin composition is nickel, brass, or copper. This 2013 Specimen Set is the 1st EVER TO FEATURE A PURE SILVER DOLLAR, crafted in 99.99% Fine Silver, and 23.17 grams. The specimen finish is a three-fold combination of brilliant and frosted relief on a lined finish background; a finish unique to the Royal Canadian Mint. The year 2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Arctic Expedition. The Canadian Arctic Expedition was an important event in the exploration of the Canadian Arctic, helping to map the extent of Canada’s Arctic territory, preserve Canada’s sovereignty in the region, and uncover important research about the people, flora, fauna, and geology of the region. Designed by Canadian artist Bonnie Ross, the reverse image portrays several significant elements from the Canadian Arctic Expedition...a portrait of three men standing beside a dogsled packed with gear. Harnessed to the sled, the waiting dog team is watches and listens for the command to move on across the Arctic tundra, to the mountainous skyline on the distant horizon.
