U-Bolt for the leaf spring suspension, clamping the front leaf spring to the axle. This is the short, round-top type with a 7/16" BSF thread. It passes over the axle and down throu gh the spring seat plate; tightening the nuts on its threaded legs clamps the spring firmly to the axle and locates the axle against the spring.
