[Artist Concept Model - Crasher Hats 8] [Benny Greb (Moving Parts)] Artist Concept Models feature original and innovative sounds created by MEINL artists and the research and devel opment team. Small hi-hats sound great and are fun to play. But the problem was that they had this annoying squeal that would overlap with the attack and the chime. As I got more involved with electronic sounds, I wanted a different sound that was drier and shorter. Something that mixed a great hi-hat sound with a clap. I needed one instrument that could do it all, and that's what I got by layering four different cymbals. It's a beautiful, completely different sound.
