Handcrafted 1-inch true condenser capsule The sE2200 is a cardioid microphone, but it uses two vapor-deposited gold diaphragms (instead of one) to achieve the best possible acoustic characteristics. Every capsule is handcrafted and tuned in-house in our Shanghai factory by skilled technicians, just like the finest musical instruments.Unlike other microphones with backplate or electret designs, the sE2200 features a true externally polarized condenser capsule. Traditional Class A Electronic Design Carefully selected discrete components ensure excellent sound with a wide range of sources. The sE2200 is designed for superior performance without the use of ICs (integrated circuits) - low noise, consistent performance, and high sensitivity are achieved through state-of-the-art surface-mount electronic components manufactured to extremely tight tolerances. Switchable attenuation levels and low-cut filters The -10dB/-20dB switchable pad switch provides a wide dynamic range, allowing you to handle a wide range of sources including loud instruments such as heavy electric guitars, powerful brass, and heavy kick drums, as well as enabling close-mic techniques. The selectable 80Hz/160Hz low-cut filter reduces low-frequency rumble and unwanted foot noise, and helps balance excessive proximity effect when using close microphones. Custom-designed output transformer Inspired by the soul of classic studio microphones, the sE2200's custom transformer adds depth and power to the overall sound image, while its heavily shielded metal housing ensures noise-free operation.
