Haunting Mids is an incredibly effective Sweepable-Mids EQ preamp that will turn any amp or pedal into a terrifying monster. With the ability to adjust the mids to boost or scoop, your creativity will find the tone you desire. The Haunting Mids has four controls: Volume, Mids, Sweep, and a Lo/Hi switch. The Volume control is a standard volume control that adjusts the volume or boosts the signal. The Mids and Sweep controls work closely together, allowing you to optimize the midrange frequencies you want to boost/scoop. When the Mids knob is set to 12 o'clock, no frequencies are boosted/scooped. Turning it left of 12 o'clock starts to scoop the midrange, and turning it right of 12 o'clock starts to boost it. The Sweep knob controls the frequency band you want to boost/scoop. Turning it left affects the low mids, and turning it right affects the high mids. The Lo/Hi switch functions like a Q control, sharpening the frequency peak affected by the Mids knob. Lo has a soft, broad peak, which gives a smooth effect when adjusting the Mids/Sweep knob. Hi has a sharp, steep peak, which gives a very sharp and articulate effect when adjusting the Mids/Sweep knob. This pedal is fantastic for adding some great midrange tube drive to an amp's already-breaking sound, or for dialing in the perfect bite with an overly scooped distortion sound for a variety of situations, including djent, blues licks, rock riffs, and lead solos. It's also excellent for adjusting amps and pedals with a pronounced midrange.
