Wheel throwing - 6 evening classes, each class is 3 hours (4 participants)Welcome to a six-part introductory wheel throwing course – a creative break from everyday life where you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in the craft, unwind, and let your hands work with clay. Over six weeks, one evening per week, we meet in the studio and focus on technique, form, and personal expression in a calm and supportive environment. The course is suitable both for complete beginners and for those with prior experience who wish to refine their technique, perfect details, or explore new forms of expression. We begin with the fundamentals: how to center the clay on the wheel, open it up, and shape simple forms such as bowls or cylinders. We then move on to refining shapes, trimming foot rings, and trying out various decorative techniques. Each session begins with a walkthrough and demonstration, followed by plenty of hands-on time with individual guidance tailored to your level and personal goals. Weekly course outline: 1. Introduction & Throwing – The Basics: Centering, opening, and shaping simple forms. 2. Throwing – Continued Practice: Deepening your technique, exploring more forms, building consistency. 3. Trimming & Decoration: Trimming foot rings, and experimenting with decorative techniques. 4. Throwing – Repetition & Development: Working independently with technical support and personal challenges. 5. Trimming & Decoration – Further Exploration: Refining your pieces and exploring artistic expression. 6. Glazing: Introduction to glaze and color – you glaze your own work. After the course, your pieces will be glaze-fired, and ready for pickup within 4-6 weeks. An additional clay cost of 80 SEK/kg applies. Glaze and all other materials are included. Course Leader: Cajsa Karlsson Cajsa Karlsson: "I started with ceramics in 2017 and have since deepened my craft through courses in both Hong Kong and Denmark to refine my technique. I mainly work on the wheel, but I enjoy combining different techniques to explore form and expression. I'm really looking forward to sharing my knowledge, inspiring creative exploration – and most of all, having fun together in the studio!" Drejkurs - 6 kvällskurser, varje tillfälle är 3 timmar (4 deltagare) Välkommen till en grundläggande drejkurs i sex delar – en kreativ paus i vardagen där du får möjlighet att fördjupa dig i hantverket, varva ner och låta händerna arbeta i lera. Under sex veckor, en kväll i veckan, möts vi i studion och fokuserar på teknik, form och personligt uttryck i en lugn och stöttande miljö. Kursen passar både dig som är nybörjare och dig som har tidigare erfarenhet av drejning och vill utveckla din teknik, finslipa detaljer eller hitta nya uttryckssätt. Vi börjar med grunderna, hur du centrerar leran på skivan, öppnar upp och formar enkla föremål som skålar eller cylindrar. Därefter går vi vidare till att förfina former, trimma fotringar och prova på olika dekorationstekniker. Varje tillfälle inleds med en genomgång och demonstration, följt av gott om praktisk tid med individuell handledning som anpassas efter din nivå och dina mål. Kursupplägg vecka för vecka: 1. Introduktion och drejning – grunderna: Centrering, öppning och enklare former. 2. Drejning – fortsättning: Fördjupning av teknik, fler former och stabilitet. 3. Trimning och dekoration: Beskickning, fotringar och dekoration. 4. Drejning – repetition och vidareutveckling: Personligt arbete och teknikutmaningar. 5. Trimning och dekoration – fördjupning: Finslipning av alster och uttryck. 6. Glasering: Introduktion till glasyr och färgsättning – du glaserar dina verk.
