DESCRIPTION This suit no longer has a manufacturer’s label, but the stitching and construction indicate that it is of Swedish origin, most likely made in the early 1950s or possibly a few years earlier. The fabric, however, is British — a mid-grey wool with a lightly mottled texture. The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal welt front pockets and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight and closed — it does not have a vent. Inside, the jacket is fully lined and has three inner pockets: one large pocket on each side and a smaller one on the left. The trousers have double pleats, slightly slanted front pockets, and a button fly. They feature so-called “tunnel loop,” meaning the belt is partially concealed within a waistband channel. On the inside of the waistband, there are buttons for attaching braces. The condition of the suit overall is very good. The only minor issue is some light discolouration in the lining, particularly in the trouser pockets and underarm areas. However, these are not visible when the suit is worn and do not affect the overall impression. Please refer to the photos to form your own assessment of its condition. SIZE The size corresponds to a modern EU 50 (UK/US 40). There is extra fabric in both the trouser waist and hems, allowing for alterations if needed.
