DESCRIPTION According to its label, this suit was made in Italy. The brand is Simon Ackerman, a chain whose shops were primarily based in the United States, so it is quite possible that this suit was originally sold there — though we can only speculate. In its overall character, it feels distinctly American, apart from the fact that the jacket is fully lined; at the time, American jackets were more commonly half-lined. It is made from a medium-grey fabric that is somewhat lighter than the cloth typically seen in Swedish suits from the same era, making it quite suitable as a summer suit. The jacket is single-breasted and fastens with three buttons. It features horizontal front pockets with flaps and a breast pocket. There is a buttonhole on the left lapel. The back is straight with a single vent — a short one, which we would also describe as a typically American feature. As mentioned, the interior is fully lined and has two inner pockets, one on each side — the left one with a button fastening and flap. The trousers have double front pleats and vertical side pockets.
