The debut album The Cool Voice of Rita Reys by the Dutch jazz singer Rita Reys. She recorded the album with the famous backup band Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers. Her cool voice is set down against a background which reflects her personality. You can feel her experience in the pop music by listening closely to her voice. Her sense of phrasing is wonderful and the jazz sounds are filled with musicianship. Europe's first lady of jazz as she was once called in the 1960s was one of the most famous jazz singers from her time.
