Producer Local favourite, Oakdene, is situated in Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula. The establishment was founded in 2001 by Bernard and Elizabeth Hooley. While Bernard concentrated on establishing the vineyard, Elizabeth worked on setting up the homestead. Presently, their vineyard features a winery, a popular cellar door, a cafe, and a restaurant. Their wines offer excellent value and cater to a broad audience. Tasting Note Bright lifted aromatics of ripe plum, black cherry, violets and some black pepper; it is medium-bodied with plush, ripe fruit on the palate and some lovely savoury 'whole-bunch' leafiness. The tannins are ripe and refined, and the finish is long-lasting. This wine is a wonderfully food-friendly wine with a lot to offer.
