Adine StixThis mid-late 20th century Abstract Expressionist oil on canvas painting is by West Coast Abstract Expressionist painter Adine Stix (1909-1987). Stix studied Art at Skidm ore College and worked with her husband Hugh Stix to develop the New York Artist's Gallery in the 1930s. Painted in her Pyramid Lake, Nevada studio built with the proceeds from the 1961 film The Misfits, which was filmed on her ranch. Mid-Late 20th Century Oil on Canvas 28.75"x22.75" framed, 24"x18" unframed Framed in a contemporary Modernist-style thick wood frame with a warm silver finisg. Excellent vintage condition. Show more
