Looking back at the glory days of rock guitar (mid-60s to mid-70s), some of the most popular amp setups were from Britain's Marshall and Vox... often featuring multi-speaker cabinets. Players like Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore and Brian May used these rigs to carve their own unique sound on stage and in the studio, employing "The Treble Booster" to combat overwhelming bottom end. A treble booster adds more top-end and higher frequencies to your guitar's tone. Depending on how you configure your amp, there are some very desirable overdrives. Companies like Dallas (Rangemaster) and Hornby Skewes (Treble Booster) have solved the bottom end problem, giving them a new sonic palette. And Carl Martin decided it was time to recreate this sound with the PlexiRanger! Finally, the PlexiRanger, a unique effect pedal that adds a gain channel to the boost channel, has been born! The PlexiRanger is an overdrive pedal with two boost controls and two types of low cut pre-boost. The booster section features two types of booster: Carl Martin's signature crystal clean boost, and a frequency boost that allows you to adjust the frequency band to be boosted. It also features a low-cut switch that cuts out low frequencies that tend to expand. You can choose between two types and bypass to suit your sound. The drive section produces sounds ranging from booster-like to crunch. Furthermore, by combining it with a booster, it is possible to create a wide range of sounds, including high-gain overdrive sounds. This is a new signature effect pedal from Carl Martin, incorporating the know-how cultivated through the Plexi Tone series. The PlexiRanger incorporates a specially developed DC/DC converter circuit that allows the pedal to run at ±12V internally to maintain excellent sound quality and headroom. The pedal is powered using an external 9V DC 100mA power supply. ■Specifications・Boost Side LO-CUT, BOOST, FREQ, RANGE, BOOST switch・Drive Side GAIN, TONE, LEVEL, PLEXI switch・LEDs Boost Side: Green (lights up when ON) Drive Side: Red (lights up when ON) ·connection INPUT: 1/4 phone input jack 9V DC: 2.1mm jack for DC 9V (center negative) REMOTE: External foot switch jack (1/4 phone jack, TS phone) OUTPUT: 1/4 inch phone output jack・Technical specifications Input: 1M Ohm Output: 200 Ohm S/N Ratio: 54dB Tone: High Cut Boost: +15dB Range: +15dB Freq: 250Hz-5kHz Size: 120 (W) x 95 (D) x 56 (H) mm Weight: 420g Maximum power consumption: 100mA Power supply: 9V DC 150mA, center negative
