SWA is also home to one of the largest surf schools in the country, putting over 31,000 West Australian’s through their SunSmart Learn to Surf and Learn to Stand Up Paddle programs. One of their qualified coaches can allow you to try some boards and make the correct recommendations. Remember it is always better if you are able to try some equipment first before purchasing a board. Be honest with yourself if you are only starting out. It is always best to choose a slightly bigger board as the most important aspect of learning to surf is to have a board that is stable on the water and enables you to catch waves.
