Please note Wire thread inserts cannot be measured in their free state as they expand upon installation. Once correctly installed, these inserts will have a fitted length of 0.656" less the ½ pitch allowance needed to ensure the insert’s effectiveness. The only way to measure an insert before installing it is to count how many coils it has. A 7/16UNFx1.5D insert should have between 10.2 - 11.1 coils.
