The model 700 is affectionately nicknamed the "ashtray" This was because of the ashtray style cups on the body of the phone. This design was unique in that the user could rest the handset down on the phone without having to hang up. This ashtray was later followed by the 900 series of ashtray phones which contained the ringer and network in the base.The bakelite body has been beautifully buffed to restore its original luster and sheen. The receiver sounds loud and clear. A network has been installed in the base to enable this phone to attach to the modern telephone system. As a finishing touch we have covered the base in super soft pig skin leather, normally covered in felt. A cloth covered handset and modular line cord has been installed so that this phone will connect directly to your phone jacks without any additional equipment being required.Please note, there is no ringer in this phone. You can add an external ringer from the drop down menu.
