Neo-Brutalism Boost/Overdrive Absolutely indestructible. A unique booster with a strong personality. 0xEAE Boost is a booster pedal created in collaboration with the design group Obstructures. The distinctive enclosure, designed by Obstructures, combines the tastes of "utilitarianism," "elegance," and "neo-brutalism" with respect for the iconic fuzz pedals of the 60s and 70s. Inspired by its unique shape, the sound design is also unique and cannot be described within the framework of existing boosters. The peculiar object's overwhelming presence cannot be ignored; it is simply there. It is no exaggeration to say that this device goes beyond the realm of musical instruments and is the ultimate weapon for the apocalypse. Overview The collaboration between Electronic Audio Experiments and the design collective Obstructures began in late 2017 with the goal of developing a pedal with an enclosure and atmosphere that no one had ever achieved before. Combining Obstructures' signature neo-brutalist style with homage to iconic sloping enclosures from Sola Sound, WEM and Interfax, the result is an indestructible object for musical performance. This unique design has greatly inspired the sound, giving it a very unique texture. The 0xEAE Boost is a versatile signal booster/overdrive with razor-sharp high-frequency response and enormous output level. The discrete op-amp-based configuration induces high-frequency intermodulation, producing a very powerful and detailed treble boost. The combination of active and passive tone controls gives the guitar a wide (too wide) range of sound characteristics. Used alone, it creates excessive saturation and high frequencies. It also pairs perfectly with distorted amps and drive pedals, instantly transporting any setup into the underground realm. The enormous output volume easily transforms subsequent pedals into monster distortion. It has an incomparable texture that does not dramatically change the character, but rather adds wildness and melancholy.
